Why choose concrete over wood, asphalt or Brick?
Concrete offers unparalleled durability compared to other alternatives. As a low maintenance solution, concrete resists rutting, sagging, and weed growth, ensuring long-term structural integrity. With a wide array of colors, patterns, and finishes available, concrete offers a customizable aesthetic that sets it apart from the rest.
What patterns and colours do you offer?
We pride ourselves on offering a diverse selection of stamped concrete patterns to suit every taste and style preference. Choose from our exquisite patterns including Old Granite, Ashlar Slate, and Flagstone, each meticulously crafted to elevate the aesthetic of your outdoor space.
When it comes to colors, we provide a wide range of options to complement any design scheme. Our most popular choices include a rich array of earth tones such as charcoal, sienna brown, terracotta, beige, and more. Whether you prefer subtle neutrals or bold hues, we have the perfect color palette to bring your vision to life.
How long will the job take?
The duration of each project is unique, contingent upon its size and complexity. However, as a general guideline, an average-sized driveway, patio, or sidewalk can typically be completed in a week or less. Rest assured, our team at Gilbert Brothers Concrete Construction is committed to delivering efficient and timely service, ensuring your project is completed with the utmost professionalism and quality craftsmanship.
How thick is the concrete?
Our standard slab thickness is a minimum of 4 inches, providing a sturdy foundation for various residential projects. In certain situations where additional strength and durability are necessary, such as heavy traffic areas or specific project requirements, we may recommend a thickness of 6 inches. Rest assured, any adjustments to thickness will be thoroughly discussed and agreed upon before the commencement of the project, ensuring that your concrete structure meets both safety and performance standards.
Is the concrete reinforced?
We prioritize the structural integrity and longevity of our projects. When pouring concrete against a foundation, we employ a meticulous approach by inserting 10mm rebar into the wall. This strategic reinforcement prevents any movement, ensuring that the concrete maintains its position and proper drainage slope over time.
Furthermore, to enhance strength and stability, all of our projects are poured with 10 gauge wire mesh embedded within the concrete. For clients seeking additional durability, we offer the option to incorporate fiberglass or extra rebar into the concrete mix, provided by our trusted suppliers. These reinforcements not only bolster the structural integrity but also contribute to the long-term resilience of your concrete installation.
